So right now we are in Sunny Salem Oregon! We found out a little late in the game that when you take a car into mexico you need a credit card and title to the car...Well, we knew that... What we didn't know is that the name on the credit card MUST match the name on the title! So we are playing the waiting game. Hurry up and wait (3 weeks!) for a new title with both of our names on it. JFK!!! We are soooo ready, but not able to move. Very fustrating, but the home cooked meals are nice (Thanks Sue)!
At the very least, 'Limbo Hell' is providing a fine opportunity to double-check our plans - making sure they are reasonable/possible. Oh! And this delay also puts us in Mazatlan just in time for Thai's family's time share slot! Which means us poor travelers might start our adventure with a week in a beachside resort. It ain't campin' on the side of the highway, but I guess we'll take it.
If you or anyone else has any recommendations for places to visit in North mexico (between T.J. and Mazatlan) let us know!!!!

Introducing...
Hey everyone! We're Thai and Andy - two twenty-somethings with small pocketbooks and big eyes looking to see the world. We're just getting ready to set out on an extended roadtrip through Mexico, Central, and South America. We've got about $10,000 to play with, a '93 Corolla that runs great, more than a few maps, and a sense of adventure that's up to the challenge.
As of March 18th, we will be heading south from Portland, OR into California to visit some long lost friends in Fresno (Hey Nicole!) and Los Angeles (Hey Alvin!). We should be crossing the border into Mexico some time around the 1st of April. From there on, who knows? We have a handful of ideas and goals, but no ultimate itinerary.
We've set up this blog to allow our friends and families to keep up with us. As we go, we'll be posting photos and stories for your viewing pleasure. Hope you enjoy!
